This notification is to inform you that the Clarity SaaS SMTP service was updated on August 10, 2021 to enforce RFC 5322 standards for Header Field formatting.
Service Availability: The Clarity SaaS application was available during the update
Details: Broadcom’s SMTP provider updated their security rules for email addressees to conform to the RFC 5322 standards that require each type of addressee be contained in a single row.
Actions Required:If your organization has deployed any custom processes that contain email generating GEL scripts, those GEL scripts need to be reviewed to determine the emails they generate correspond to RFC 5322 standards. Please complete the following steps:
For additional details see KB Article ID: 222834
Impacts: Due to some GEL scripts utilizing custom Java classes to generate email notifications via GEL scripts, some emails were being generated with duplicate addressee rows (ie to, cc, bcc...) After the rule update emails formatted in that manner are being rejected.
Note: This type of service update would normally be notified in advance to clients under the Broadcom change management process. We are working with our SMTP vendor to determine why a notice was not received for this update and mitigate any future recurrences of missed change notifications.
If you have any questions, please contact Broadcom Support.
Thank you,
Clarity SaaS Team
